We’re looking for a highly motivated Financial Planning and Analysis Manager who will support budgeting, long term planning, operations and financial reporting for the company. This role will work with leaders across the organization to collect revenue and expense metrics as well as department-level KPIs critical to our business, and enable the budgeting and forecasting processes for the company. As the organization rapidly scales and changes, this role will help the executive team better understand progress toward goals, performance against plan, and how potential changes to plan may impact future performance of the business. 
This position will initially report into the Business Operations team. Given that this is the first FP&A hire in the company it is understood that this role and responsibilities related thereto will evolve over time. 
This role will require 10-20% travel to our San Francisco office.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Own and manage the monthly, quarterly and annual budgeting and forecasting processes in partnership with Finance
  • Prepare regular management reports comparing actual results to budget and rolling forecast
  • Gather and interpret data related to the company’s performance against KPIs, distilling/synthesizing key trends, assessing current and future business risk, and communicating key messages to the executive team
  • Provide analysis of trends and recommend actions for optimization of the results therefrom
  • Partner with department owners to provide operational analysis and reporting and to drive improvements to operating expense efficiency and forecasting
  • Increase productivity by developing automated reporting/forecasting tools that will integrate with the financial and operational tools used by the company
  • Guide cost analysis process by helping to establish and enforce policies and procedures
  • Obtain market data for “benchmark” companies with similar business models to Abstract, provide information to the management team as to how Abstract compares to these benchmark companies
  • Help management and the finance organization present appropriate data to investors and third parties as needed


Desired Skills and Experience

  • 3+ years FP&A experience
  • Deep understanding of SaaS business models required
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize workload
  • Highly organized and can easily manage cross-functional projects
  • Highly proficient with Microsoft Excel/Google Sheets; data driven and analytical
